Who Wants To Be A Coach?
11/11/2009

Warren 'Coachy' Burford may have used up all his lifelines after The Bullets slumped to a 14-point defeat in Round 3 of the BHRFL. The previously undefeated Bullets lost to the bottom-placed and winless Wannabees in one of the upsets of the season, and the blame has been firmly placed on the shoulders of the beleaguered Burford, whose chances of coaching The Bullets past this season are now rated only 50-50. In the past, 'Coachy' has always been able to phone a friend on the board of directors and soothe things over, but there is a growing amount of unrest at board level, as many believe this year could be The Bullets one shot at glory.

The game was a complete reversal of fortune from Round 5 last season, where the winless Bullets defeated the undefeated Wannabees. Some may argue that The Bullets board of directors are being harsh, considering The Bullets currently sit atop the ladder, so this intrepid reporter set out to ask the audience and see what they think. Number one ticketholder and former leader of the Cosa Nostra, Dan Vitale, was disappointed with the result, claiming he would have walked out on the game...if the carpark hadn't been so far away. He admitted 'Coachy' still had his full support, but did predict he could be "sleeping with the fishes" by season's end. Others were quicker to stick the knives into 'Coachy' with the father of star ruckman/forward Luke Barisic only too happy to see an abrupt end to Coachy's career, calling into 3AW during the week to voice his displeasure.

Burford has been in hiding since the game and has not spoken to the media, but surely whether he coaches The Bullets next year or not is right now the million dollar question.
