Record Breakers!
04/11/2009

The Bullets' record-breaking run continued against The Mugars in Round 2 action of the BHRFL this week. After kicking their record score the week before against The AFLVic All-Stars, The Bullets went one better, kicking a mammoth 21.5.146, running out 97 point winners, in the process setting a record for their greatest ever winning margin. But the records don't end there. Other records to come out of the win were:

- Equalling the team's best-ever winning streak of four games
- Their best start to a season in history (2-0)
- The most goals kicked in a game (Luke Barisic - 10)
- The most goals kicked in a game by a female player (Belinda Goldsworthy - 5)

Goldsworthy, in a stunning start to her career, just narrowly missed out on the record for most goals on debut, falling one short of Andrew Merryweather's sizzling 6-goal display in Round 1 2005. The bad news for The Bullets is that Goldsworthy may not play for the club again, due to the controversial new free agency laws introduced at the start of this season. Already under salary cap stress, The Bullets may not be able to match the money on offer from rival clubs.

But it was a celebratory night for The Bullets, with Danijela Mijic notching up her 10th game for the club and Simon "The Pieman" Conti kicking his first ever goal (he ended with two) in a rare, but exhilarating move up forward.

The team next plays The Wannabees, who will no doubt pose a threat to The Bullets record-breaking ways.
