Groundhog Day For Bullets!

.
ANOTHER TUESDAY NIGHT...ANOTHER TEN GOAL LOSS!!!.

There was a sense of deja vu in Round 6 action of the SRFL as The Bullets were once again beaten by 10 goals. Up against the improved Gunners outfit, The Bullets were dealt no favours by lady luck as comeback kid Debbie Murray was injured in the first few minutes of the game and spent the rest of the game off the field. It left The Bullets outnumbered, and The Gunners capitalised, kicking out to a 55-point half-time margin and eventually running out 66-point winners. It is the second consecutive loss for The Bullets and extra disappointing for Rob Hazell and Dean Jones, who were celebrating milestone games.

The third Bullets player to reach 25 games, Dean Jones was named best-on-ground for The Bullets, kicking one goal in the first half before heading to the backline in the second half and winning a stack of possessions, while helping to shut down scoring opportunities for The Gunners. He even provided midfielder Luke Barisic with a few "cheap" kicks. Hazell, who became the tenth Bullets player to reach the ten game milestone, was up against it in defence opposed to an impressive Gunners attack, but it didn't prevent him giving his usual drive out of defence as he continues his great season.

The returning Andrew Merryweather showed no sign of rust, picking up where he left off two weeks ago with another fine performance up forward. He kicked another two goals to take his season tally to 19 and career tally to 86, as he edges closer to 100 career goals. Speaking of goals, it was great to see Warren 'Coachy' Burford getting amongst the goals for the first time this season as he drifted forward in the second half. Rob Rizzo was obviously better from the run from last week, as he was very lively up forward in the second half and unlucky not to get a goal himself. And once Narelle Jones worked out the direction The Bullets were kicking, she was also another good contributor!

The loss sees The Bullets at 3-3 and drop back to sixth place on the ladder. The side will be looking to snap the losing streak next week against The Travellers, a side they have had success against in the past.
