Bullets
Close On Judd Deal!
06/10/2007.
He
may have been sporting hair extensions and wearing a delightful blue
gown, but there was no mistaking who Chris Judd's Brownlow medal date
was, The Bullets' very own, Warren 'Coachy' Burford. Fans of The Bullets
across the world were delighted (and yet, somewhat disturbed) to see
Coachy gracing the red carpet with Judd on his arm.
The incident has not only ended weeks of speculation that The Bullets
have been negotiating with Judd to join the club, but has confirmed
that they are the likely front-runners to secure the services of the
Brownlow medallist and premiership captain. When contacted for comment,
West Coast Eagles CEO Trevor Nisbett admitted that the two clubs were
negotiating, but that no deal had been struck. While it was originally
rumoured that The Bullets had offered the Eagles their prized No.39
pick in the draft and three players (believed to be Dave Beattie, Debbie
Murray, and Narelle Jones), it has been uncovered that, in actuality,
The Bullets did offer the draft pick to the Eagles, but offered the
three players to Judd personally: to work as his chauffeur, gardener,
and maid respectively...although Beattie has been petitioning to serve
as Judd's maid as he already has an outfit ready.
With his family living in the nearby Bayside area, it makes sense for
Judd to sign with The Bullets as he has stated his main reason for moving
back to Victoria was to be closer to his family. He also has a strong
connection to the club as last year's Vitale medallist Luke Barisic
is a close friend of the family (well, he delivers them their supermarket
catalogues on his rounds every weekend). Plus, rumours have been circulating
that Judd and Coachy were both seen looking at property in the Glen
Waverley area together.
Of
most concern to Bullets fans is the condition of Judd, who struggled
through most of the past AFL season with an acute case of osteitis pubis.
He may have a friend in star forward Andrew Merryweather, who has also
suffered from osteitis pubis. Merryweather, like Judd, has had surgery
during the off-season to rectify his debilitating condition...although
surgery could have been avoided in Merryweather's case if he had just
have stayed away from The Bullets cheerleading squad.
Coachy can't afford to be too distracted by the Judd negotiations as
the 2007 season is just around the corner. On October 9th, The Bullets
will have their first game of the season at 6:30pm.
There have been a lot more happenings in the off-season and our ever
reliable reporter, The Informer, will be unveiling his new column early
next week.

packages, which include our brand new range of player t-shirts and other
great items for supporters.
