Coachy's Corner: 2009 Corporate Games

Hi everyone,

The Bullets, on Saturday 21st November, participated in the Australian Corporate Games at Albert Park. With this being our first games, our group was pretty keen to play some good footy and have a good day.

Our Squad:

Josh Pitts was the new player for the team, while Ruth Hannan returned to the side for the day.

Game 1:
Opposition forfeited, so win went to The Bullets.

Game 2:
The Bullets were on fire during this match, Ruth playing fantastic footy in the first half. Her 2 goals from two great marks were a highlight, as were Andrew & Josh, who marked everything that came their way in the forward line. Brent was at his dashing best out of defence and Luke very solid in the ruck.

Game 3:
In a 23 point loss for the side, Luke was everywhere for us taking numerous marks and setting up the forwards. With the injury to Ruth in the first game, Narelle stepped in to the centre with great results, winning plenty of the ball. Brent continued to use the footy very well in the back half, while Josh & Andrew made up our three goals.

Goals: Andrew 2, Josh 1

Best Players: Luke, Brent, Narelle, Josh, Andrew

Game 4:
In another big win for The Bullets, Andrew & Josh were back amongst the goals, again marking everything that came their way in a devastating performance. Narelle was superb in the middle, while Brent & Luke played well with plenty of possessions each.

Game 5:
With the team clearly tired after only five minutes break from Game 4, we lost our position playoff by 25 points. We just couldn't get anything going after a big day of football. Josh was very good pushing up from the forward line, with Andrew trying hard kicking a couple. Brent was good out of the backline and Luke & Narelle battled on in the centre. Ruth made a comeback, playing deep in the forward line, managing to take a sensational mark.

A really good, tiring day was had with our team embracing the spirit of rec footy all day. Everyone should be very proud of their efforts, to keep fronting up, we stuck together and showed we are a very good team.
